AFTN (Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunications Network) Message Switching System nowadays must be secure, reliable, fast, expandable, efficient, easy to maintain and cost effective. To make these objectives, the systems have to be constructed using state of the art hardware and must utilize modular software architecture. They must also conform to the latest ICAO standard to meet the world's increasing air traffic and safety needs.

With more than fifteen years in the field of aviation and telecommunications system, ELSA is now a leader in delivering turnkey AFTN Message Handling System for the Indonesian Civil Aviation installations.

ELSA AMSC AROMES 1003Qi is an AFTN application software product which in designed modular architecture, conform to ICAO standard and runs on multinodes Industrial PC in redundant configuration using Reliable Industrial Real-Time operating system. The internodes communication software has been designed to enable the system to support a single or multiple networks on the same processor or single or multiple networks on multiple processors. So, it is possible to combine an AFTN Network, a CIDIN Network, SITA Network, A ROBEX/MET Database, NOTAM Database and IATA Network(s) in the same system or across a network of systems.

An on-line configurator facility is provided for modification of channel, queue and routing tables, whereby an operator can dynamically add, modify or delete a table or table entry on-line by means of menu driven inquiry/response session while the ELSA AMSC AROMES system is running.

The system is designed to provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week of uninterrupted operation. The system hardware is extremely reliable with two parallel redundant system using internal error checking features.

Until 7 Nov 1997, 20 systems has been installed and operations.
